Today...

Today Annie is 11 weeks old.
Today Davis is 18 months old.
Today I was thankful for healthy, beautiful kids.

What about you? What were you thankful for or what did you take for granted today? We only get one chance at each day, I think I'll choose thankfulness.

BOOK CLUB COOKOUT

Well its been awhile- so sorry about that!
So I am in a book club with some good friends- Lakiea Chapman, Meg Brown, Emily Jenkins, Erin Accardi, Sarah Pattison, Kimberly Evers and Yegi Cole. We meet once a month to catch up, eat cake, drink a glass of wine and of course discuss the book! It is TOTALLY GREAT! If you are looking for something fun... you should totally find some friends and start one- i promise you will love it!
We decided to have a cookout and bring our hubbies and kiddos! In the picture with the kiddos... from L to R is Thomas Brown, Nell Pattison, Davis, Esther Pattison, Annie, Braxton Lamb (lakiea's nephew) and Lucy and Rex Evers. Plus there are FOUR more babies on the way!! SO FUN!

3 New Rides

This last week Davis and Annie had the opportunity to try out a few new rides.

The first was with our neighbor's granddaughter from across the street.
One day last week while I was out mowing the yard our neighbors had their granddaughter and her hot pink corvette out in the driveway. Katie was gracious and took Davis over to play. I am pretty sure that Davis wanted to drive, but that simply wasn't going to happen. I told him just to enjoy it and to go after older women!
Her electric, hot pink, convertible corvette had Davis mesmerized.
(When Katie and I first started dating she had to pick me up because I couldn't drive- yes I'm that cool. That was 15 years ago!)

The second new ride this week was Davis went on his first boat ride over the weekend.
I think he really enjoyed it for a couple of reasons:
1. Boat is easy to say. So we heard lots of, "boat?, boat? boat?" Everything Davis currently says sounds like he is asking a questions.
2. The keys. As cool as the boat was I believe he was more intrigued by the cool float thing on the keys.
3. I water skied for a while and I am not sure that he could figure out exactly what I was doing or why.

Annie's new ride is not quite as "exciting". But she has tried out some tummy time! She continues to do amazing, sleeping 8-9 hours a night.
She is beautiful.

Picture time

8 weeks ago when Annie was 10 days old a good friend of ours, Mindy, came and took some pics of Annie and the family.
We have had these for weeks now, but finally thought we would put some up on the blogosphere.
Enjoy.

Both the kids were very cooperative. Because Annie had a little jaundice some of her pics look best in black and white, but i think she just looks like she has a rocking tan.

Mindy did the same thing when Davis was her age. The similarities are crazy.
Top one is Annie.

This is Davis.

Update

We spent last week house sitting for Muma and Poppa.
It was a good week for playing. Davis spent plenty of time in the "poooooool" and is beginning to enjoy floating more and more. His previous mode of operation was to only stand around the side of the hot tub and play, but now he's enjoying the freedom of floating.
Annie is doing fabulous. She has slept through the night, 8-9 hours, every night this week! It's amazing. She turns 2 months old tomorrow. She has taken to sleeping through the night a bit quicker than Davis did, at least the best that we can remember.
Davis is learning Annie's name, actually he is learning the name for everything and continues to give her lots of kisses.

peek a boo

We have been meaning to post this for a while.
A couple of weeks ago while I, JC, was brushing my teeth or combing my hair Davis came in the bathroom and found out that he can fit between our vanity and the wall. Well as he was was standing there I said, "where's davis?"
You could tell he was suprised and was thinking, "wait, Dad can't see me!?!?"
So now he LOVES to play peek a boo, especially with Katie while she is drying her hair.

He hides in the space, you say where is davis, and he pops his little head out and smiles.
Fun times.

Home

In case you were wondering, we did make it home from the beach.
Annie and Davis both did great in the car. We are hoping that only continues.
It was a great week of vacation with the Fendley family.
Here are a few more pics from the week.
