still here

Sorry it's been such a long time.
They say the first rule of blogging is to blog, because if you don't update people don't come back.

So sorry.

Apparently school is back in and schedules are returning to normal because life is getting crazy.

Davis is crazy. He is a laughing box. Eating great. Sleeping great.
Katie has set some boundaries on what is means to be part time and we are off to a great start to the semester.

Davis is fascinated with the guitar.

Extravaganza

Hopefully that last post was up long enough for everyone to know I am thankful for Katie on her birthday!

Sorry it's been such a long time.

It's been quite a week.

Katie turned 30.
Went to Seasons for her birthday- delicious
Friday we went on a lake weekend with our small group- great fun
Saturday we came home for a birthday party for Katie and Andy
Sunday I had a surprise party for Katie and a bunch of her friends at mom and dad's
And now we are back to the grind.
enjoy the pics.

So thankful

This blog doesn't exist, if today doesn't exist.

It's Katie's birthday and there is no way I can put on a blog the depth of my appreciation, thankfulness, love, trust, laughter, and life that Katie brings to my life and so many others.

She is beautiful (in many ways) and being with her day in and day out stretches me to be more like Christ. I'm not sure I could or should ask for more than that.

I love you Katie.

that dog'll bite you.

So Davis has finally started to really notice Allie.
When she walks by Davis follows her.
When Davis is sitting near Allie he always wants to touch her.
So today we sat Davis on the ground with Allie just to see what it was like, and sure enough he started pulling on her lips, tugging on her ears, and grabbing her legs. But just like a good girl she just sat there, and licked him occasionally. But Allie is really good with him and we love that Davis is already getting comfortable around dogs so as he grows older he hopefully won't be scared.

Allie is a different dog these days. She is so chill.

Davis turned 6 months old last week.

Don't expect too many videos!

summer strawberries lead to bath

Net+Strawberries= great snack

(i'd click on this one and blow it up)

but strawberries lead to a very necessary evening bath.

if i'm honest, i think i'm glad i wasn't born in an era where they could post pics of me bathing on the internet.

August

It's hard to believe it is already August and it is time to start back to a "regular" schedule. I am not sure there is such thing as a "regular" schedule being in two ministries, but you know what I mean.
Katie starts back to YL staff meetings next week, soon college students will return, and once again our days and nights will be filled meeting with people, planning, etc...
To start the semester off Knoxville YL had a staff cookout at the Teagues. We got to meet some new staff, Rachel Baker, Amber Kinderick(sp?), and Will and Angela Acker (new West Side Area Director). The Ackers seem to be a real neat family, it will be neat getting to know them! Only kidding, we have known each other since middle school. Even last night we were able to talk about clowns, Webb, me hitting Trey Colbert in the face, me hitting Demetria in the face (much funnier), and many other great memories. It really will be a treat having them around.
Last night we had entire families there, not just staff memebers and spouses. So it was packed, kids everywhere, there were kids from 6 months to entering high school. But it was amazing to be with all those people again and see what an amazing family YL has here in Knoxville.
Hayes, Will and Angela's youngest, and Davis "played" a bit.
