Dedication and Birthday
Well today was quite a day for our family.
We had the privilege of dedicating Davis at Fellowship this morning. It was a really simple thing, but a time to recognize what a gift Davis is to us.
Today was also Gammie's (Katie's grandmother) 95th birthday! We celebrated with family and friends after church.
Here are some pics of both.

Christmas presents!
Here are some pics of Davis around the house at Christmas. He continues to amaze us as he grows, laughs and becomes his own little person.
We received an amazing early Christmas present today...we found out we are having a little GIRL!!! We were so excited to go to the ultrasound today. It is amazing how quickly this ultrasound snuck up on us this time. At first the little girl was sitting indian style and nothing was to be seen on the ultrasound. But finally after taking some other measurements we were able to see that we are indeed having a little girl. We are SO excited. We think Davis will be a great older brother and excited to have "one of each". Between Christmas, New Year, 1st birthday, etc... we are sure our little girl will be here before we know it.
Please continue to pray for her continued development and health.
Enjoy the pics.

big week
There is a lot going on around our house this week.
- Katie had her ladies small group Christmas party at the house
- Fellowship staff Christmas party
- Our couples small group Christmas party
- Got our first Christmas card with Davis on it
- We find out what we are having on Thursday
- Davis is getting dedicated on Sunday in second service at Fellowship.
Katie and I met with Tim (the pastor doing the dedication) today for lunch. When you stop and talk about dedicating your child to the Lord it really is amazing to think about the gift that we are given in children. How do you hold loosely to them as you entrust them to the Lord but also parent them.
One of the reasons we said we were excited about dedicating Davis was because of the conversations it could lead us to in the future. We hope one day Davis might ask if we had him dedicated and why we did that. Being able to talk with your child about entrusting them to God, allowing the body of Christ to play a part it bringing up a child and saying as parents we will try our best to raise him as God would see fit.
This week at Fellowship we had an amazing song called "A baby changes everything" by Faith Hill. It was great.
Obviously the song is about Christ and how he changes everything in our lives. But Katie and I also said it is also so true of your own children. Nothing, including marriage, has shown me how selfish I am, how much life is not about me, how God is in control, how much better God is, etc...
Thankful for a great week in the midst of a great season of anticipating the coming of Christ.

Baby Fat
Went down half a pound this week. Christmas parties, christmas parties, christmas parties.
Slow and steady wins the race.
On another note.
In less than two weeks the Christmas season is over.
I hope we all will take some time to focus on Christ this season. It is so easy to breeze through the season and never really slow down.
Katie and I are reading a devotional together every morning while Davis takes his bottle and that has been really good to just start the day that way. This was Katie's idea and I am thankful for these times.

Update
Katie spent the weekend in Atlanta with Demetria and some college friends. Leaving me and Davis to fend for ourselves. We ended up spending much of the day Saturday at mom and dad's place helping with their Christmas decorations. Davis loves the mickey mouse figurines. He wasn't exactly sure what to do with Eeyore. I'm pretty sure he thinks our house is boring now.
We did put up our tree last Friday and we had to be mindful of which ornaments went on the bottom as his inquisitive little hands go grabbing for them.
Only 8 days until we find out what we are having. As Davis continues to grow and change I get more and more excited about the new life that is coming our way. I find myself being more and more thankful that God is giving us this gift of life. As amazed as I am of Davis, I can't imagine the joy of another child, that will be so different but just as amazing.

thanksgiving?
So shortly after the last post I got the sickest I have ever been.
It was bad. I'll leave it at that.
So the rest of Thanksgiving break can pretty much be summed up for me in a sore stomach.
Davis was in pretty good spirits all week even though he was sick as well. We are pretty sure he had the roto virus. We could tell yesterday he really turned the corner. On Friday we had to take him to the doctor because he was just not getting better. But after lots of pedialite, thousands(literally)of wipes and diapers later, he is doing better.
(Davis at the doctor)
If you haven't started already , shame on you, but Christmas music is all you should be listening to.
