Mothers Day

There are no words to express how grateful I am on this day after Mother's Day. Katie and I have known each other FOREVER, so I can honestly say I have thought for a LONG time about what a great mom Katie Fendley Neely would be. And this year I am so thankful to say she is a mom, and a great one at that. Not only am I glad she is a mom, but I genuinely thank God daily, that she is the mother of my son. I have the honor of getting a front row seat at seeing Christ IN her as she serves, loves and cares for Davis and me.
One of a kind. Thank God for moms.

Ladies Man and Guys Night Out

Davis spent all day yesterday with a bunch of ladies. He was with Katie as she hosted a bachalorette weekend for Emily and some of her bridesmaids at a lake house. On there way to dinner, at the melting pot, we made a hand off and I took Davis for the evening. We had a fun guys night- pretty typical- bath, bottle, bed. He did wake up a couple of times but I just let him cry himself back to sleep. The real challenge was getting a shower, getting him up, packing all my stuff for church, gathering all of his stuff for church, and keeping him happy. But we made it to church on time, Lynn Whitehead said he had a great day, and now Katie is home and all is well.

Whitestone

We received a great gift this week. TN YoungLife took the married couples on staff on a two day retreat to discuss, "Marriage and Ministry". Really it was just about marriage and it was top shelf cookies, I mean the good stuff! Tom Job led the couple of days and it was really good. He used the parable of the sower to talk about growing intimacy in a marriage. Tom said some hearts are hardened, some have weeds/issues, and some are shallow and that prevents intimacy from growing. Alot to discuss and a great time away.
We did take Davis which we thought could be distracting, but he was an all star. He didn't make a sound during any of the sesssions and was great all 3 days. It was fun to have him there and spend time with friends of a similar heart and faith. How important it is to sabbath, apparently God does know what he's talking about!
